The “Mom Recession” in 2020 was real. I am here to admit that I am a part of this group, and left my job to be a stay at home mom with my 3 months old baby. She is now over a year and I will have to say I am so glad I took action with my money when I did when I was younger to be able to make our family be in a situation to be able to afford to do this. Let me show you these important action items to do with your money if you are a women, and well if you’re a man most likely you are already doing these things.
The importance of taking action with your money if you are a women!
It is so important to know people. Love people. Be kind to people. You never know when you will need someone to be there for you when you are in a time of need. I can relate to this. I was able to move across the country without a job because I networked. I found a family I love and can call my family too! I was able to receive a promotion because someone knew someone who could get my foot in the door and could say that I am “worth the risk” even though I am young.
To this day, you need to network to protect your progress of moving up in the world.
“After Job had prayed for his three friends, the Lord made Job twice as rich as he had been before.” – Job 42:10
People in general are afraid to ask for pay raises or a larger income at time of negotiation. But for you women I am talking to, if you do not ask. You will never receive! Just as the bible has told us so.
“Ask me, and I will do whatever you ask…” – John 14:13
Please ask! I learned this in my first job I took out of college. I was able to negotiate pay and they increased my salary! You can do it too!
Even if they offered you a really good salary and you are shocked and happy with it. Always ask because you deserve it!
You are going out for a girl night dinner or for a girls night out, talk about money! It is not taboo to talk about. My friends totally know me as someone who loves to budget, they come to me for money advice, I am open to them, and they feel comfortable to come and talk to me. Of course, you cannot judge them because that’s not what Jesus would do to you. Be more like Jesus is why we are here. Yes, I am not saying we mess up and judge. We do, but more than likely you will be wrong if you judged them.
You will be doing your friends a favor if you open up and talk about money!! It might not be natural at the beginning, but it will become more and more natural. It is good to grow yourself, plus it is never good to do things that maybe they cannot afford. But your friends want to join you because you asked. If you know more about their money story, you can offer things like coming over to have dinner or having dinner at their place. This is fun too you know! Covid19 taught us this!
No one is perfect! We all make mistakes, and money failures happen to us all. This is the learning part of life, and that is okay. I learn a lot from my older sisters money failures and my parents money failures so I am thankful they took the hard path so I did not. However, I even have had money failures! I was the one girl who spent way too much at Starbucks Coffee in College. I took out student loans. I bought things I should not have. Yes, I went back into debt after getting out of debt. I paid way too much for an apartment because I could “afford” to and the lifestyle “creep” happened to me!
I fully believed I have been put in certain money failures, so I have the experience to teach other people how to avoid the money failures like I did. You can learn through me, and help your own finances.
People often tell me that they love that I teach through my experience of money, and so if you have been looking for a budget coach or even if you haven’t been and you think now is a good time to set up a budget coaching session. DO IT because it is the BEST time to do it! You will receive so much fruit from my own experience! You will learn something that you will always remember!
The stock market is not scary. It is only scary if you are investing for a short term and you take out money when the market is down. There are several times where the market was down. We experienced it in 2021 and I remember it, but many people remember the other times like in 2001 and 2008. Some stock market crashes were more than a month, so in these areas you must be careful. You must be mindful of your emotions and do not act on emotions. I read this book the other week that was so good and it was called, “Dumb Things Smart People Do With Their Money.” by Jill Schlesinger. It talked about not playing the market or timing the market.
Do research about investing and learn about it. I do not know much about bitcoin, so I do not invest in it. However, I have been learning more and more about it and sometimes you must just take a little leap and invest money that you will not miss to see how it works for yourself.
Overall, lady I am glad you made it through all 5 points. I know you will benefit from these 5 things to take action on. I have told you these things to make you as completely happy as I am. These have benefited my life in a positive way and I know they will yours too!

Need a cashless budgeting system that will be the 2020 decade budgeting method with more touchless payment methods and debit cards. Keeping germs away with using cashless budgeting! Cash will it be a thing of the past like Checks…we can thank Covid-19. We want to share with you two apps that will help you cashless budget and of course our yearly bullet budget journal. We will let you determine which is better to budget with as a cashless budget. It will be your strategic thinking for the week.
First I want to share with you Mint.com, this is the platform that I have used since 2014 and before. I have both pros and cons being a user and even seeing if I should switch to use other platforms myself.
Mint.com I love being able to link up all my accounts from checking, savings, credit cards, debts, HSA, retirement accounts, and loans. This has made transitioning from single to married super easy to communicate with money and budget quickly if you run out of time during the week. It also shows if you have spent to much money in one budgeting category or if you are running close on your budget. This is a super neat feature! Especially, when my husband realized how much money we were spending at Kroger from $1 – $3 transactions!
Another feature I love to use is the net worth feature. It shows me in an instant what my net worth is and whether it is growing or declining! How neat is this! I love how when you pay debt is it increasing your net worth! Kill that debt so compound interest isn’t affecting that net worth!
As you all know I love anything free, cheap, discount, or a darn good deal especially if it is on my wish list. This app is free, which in my books is a win!

Wish List Printable
Wish List printable to help your dream expensive purchases come to reality! You will receive the printable via a PDF for you to print at home!
$2.99
Other features include investment tracking which is important when you get out of debt or even if you are in debt and want to start small and invest. I did invest when I was getting out of my student loan debt because I knew about compound interest and as a twenty year old I wanted to see how my money grew!
If you are not into the sitting down and physically writing down your spending, mint.com provides an easy way to track spending with a pie chart. It will break it down by week, month, year, and several years. Yes, you can find out how much money you can save on coffee without getting Starbucks everyday! This is a true fact for me. I spent way too much on Starbucks coffee in college and saw the savings instantly when I found mint.com!
The other bonus point it has to offer is it send you weekly updates on spending sent as a reminder plus paycheck and bill reminders! Yes, who doesn’t like a good reminder of how good you are doing on your personal finances? I know I love when we have a zero spend week and the app only shows me that we spent money on bills such as rent, phones, and insurance.
The last benefit I am going to share with you that we use is the free credit score. This is only a tiny benefit as most banks now offer this as well, but I like comparing mint.com verse my bank and you can do that too!
Now for the first negative, which is more annoying than anything. Is that bank accounts often get unlinked and you have to synchronize again. This is a technology issue that they have had for a long time.
Another negative, is that when you link checking accounts, often your consumer spending does not receive the correct category of spending. For example, say you went to Burger King it did not link it to Fast Food, but it was placed under Restaurants. This is an easy fix on your end, but it is inconvenient. I usually look at my spending categories once a week/biweekly and update any that are incorrect. This helps me during tax season for an easy and simple free way to give my tax account my spending information for my business/giving.
I shared with you the pros and cons of mint.com and no I do not have any affiliation with them, but have loved using them during my personal finance journey.
Now let’s cover Everydollar by Dave Ramsey pros and cons. I have to admit I tried this budgeting app because I took his class in college for free through my sorority. This does go against Dave Ramsey as he does believe in using cash for his budget, however we are in a new day and age! We have access to apps, Apple Pay, and so much more! You will still be able to budget your cashless lifestyle with his app.
What I really enjoyed with the Everydollar is that it was easy to use if you are not technology savvy. I am technology savvy so this app was simple for me to us, however I do recommend it for many people who are not technology savvy that I have worked with. My sister she used both mint.com and has transitioned to every dollar for this feature.
It is based on Dave Ramseys zero based budgeting, which is an added bonus! It helps you really discover where you are spending your money because you have to manually place in the money you have spent each week/month. It is a great starter budgeting app!
Another advantage is most people start their financial journey knowing Dave Ramsey therefore you can benefit from the app that is built by his team. If you have taken his class at church, school, or attended one of his podcasts you would benefit from the app too. The cool feature they have is the total debt payoff in the paid version. This allows you to see how much debt you’ve accomplished to pay off! For beginning your journey, this is definitely a pro if you need more visual that watching your net worth grow from negative to positive.
Yes, there is a free version of this app too, but the additional features are on the paid version.

Which brings me to the cons. I have been budgeting cashless for awhile now, so I do not like to save receipts. I have tried this method and cash is very easy for me to spend. Once you break a $100 bill — it is just history to me and I have stuff I do not even know what I bought with it! It is not my cup of tea, however, you may like too! Saving your receipts for an entire week and manually enter them in each week is daunting to me. I like to be able to quickly glance at my spending and be done.
It is a manual process to set up the months budget, which I do not like. I like when my budgets roll over, because my spending does not change that much from month to month other than a few things such as if we go on a tiny home adventure (mostly in the spring – fall).
Everydollar does not have a feature to see your investments, which is a huge downfall. You want get out of debt and build your net worth yet do you do not have the advantage to see this happen in this app. Personally, I am motivated when I see my net worth increase.
Lastly, they recommend the paid version which is $129 yearly so around $10 a month you can pretty much remove most of the disadvantages like connecting your bank account and not having to manually enter in the spending you did each week.
So there you have it folks, I have given you a run down quickly of the pros and cons of both mint.com and Everydollar app! I hope you enjoyed it and learned something on your personal finance journey. Which ever app you choose, this will help you manage your budget with the transition of a cashless lifestyle.
Of course even though we use an app to manage our cashless budget. We still track it ourselves with our yearly bullet budget journal This has helped us build our networth to be 6 figures! You can get the yearly bullet budget journal too to help you!

I failed and did not make a list when I went grocery shopping and still stayed under $65 for 9 meals! You might be thinking…how the heck did you do that? Well…I might have been going in the wrong direction when I made the choice to do it. But I needed to waste time and knew we needed food at home. I will teach you how I did it so you can do it to with these tips!
Our fridge looked like this…
[EMPTY]
I was going to Aldi to just buy cheerios for the park trip and then stuff started going into my cart….
But I got on track during the shopping trip and made a failure into a win with these 7 steps.

I stuck to simple foods that I knew I could make lunches and dinners with. We have staple items for both meals. Fruits and veggies. Meat and vegetable. Sauces. I stuck to those simple foods.
So if you go to the store without a list, stick to the simple foods you know you can easily put together a meal. Do not get fancy and want to try a fancy dinner that you’ve only cooked once or twice. Stick to things you can do off the top of your head.
Here are some good ones to go to in our freebie..
I personally stuck to items that were frugal. You might be thinking how do you know if it is frugal? Well I saw eggs for .49 cents for a pack of 12, so I grabbed two of them and said to myself… “I know I can make egg salad sandwiches for lunch or dinner” Now, that is not a normal meal for our family. I have made it a couple of times, but I know that it takes stuff like eggs and mayo and if that’s all we have than that is what we have with some spices.
When you find a frugal deal buy multiple of it. You will know when it is a good deal and please do not be fooled by a sign that says “SALE” because sometimes that is not a good SALE like they say.
Skip the sweets and salty aisles. Aldi can get you on those aisles so when Ember and I were going by those items. We sang, “We do not need those. We do not need those. Keep going. Keep going.”
Yes, it maybe a little EXTRA, but if it helps you like it helps me. Do it!!

Which brings me to the next tip. Tell yourself “Just keep going.” It is POWERFUL. It will make a difference – trust me!
I would call these magical.
“I will lose weight if I do not put that in my cart.”
“I can walk past those delicious oreos”
“I do not need those string cheese”
“Keep going”
“God is going to bring meals to my mind”
“What do I have at home, help me envision it”
Look at the price. It is that amazing and can save you on your bill.

Want to share with you an example that can easily add up if you are not careful. Spaghetti sauce. The highest cost of spaghetti sauce can be $4 to $5, and we get our sauce for 85 cents if we want to get fancy at ALDI, and only .29 cents at Kroger with a marked down can due to dents and spice it up with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, onion powder, parsley flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and a little bit of sugar. BAM you have a $5 tastey sauce for only .50 cents homemade!
Buy 1 family package of meat and figure out your meals from there. A family pack of chicken or ground beef. Did you know that ALID has a 3 LBS of meat in their frozen section that is cheaper than the fresh meat? Check it out!
If you go without a list, stick to easy recipes you know off the top of your head. That you do not even need a recipe anymore. It is different for everyone. Once I came home, I put together this meal plan for our family. You can see that it was not difficult.
I made my failure into a win moment to share with you. We created 9 meals for $62 for the week and we made our $350 grocery budget! The amazing thing is one week we even treated ourselves with salmon and asparagus!
We will be giving away our meal planning 101 to 2 lucky people who subscribe to our blog + share to a friend via social media.
If you were inspired that you can shop without a list and come in under budget, like it.
If you want someone else to be inspired, pin it and share it.
Know someone who wants to make better grocery decisions even without a list, pin it.
Want this year to be the year you learn how to shop like a pro, like it.

My wedding ring was a debt my husband had when we were engaged, but he paid it off fully before we got married. I would like to say I motivated him, but isn’t that what all women would say? Please laugh with me! Here are 4 tips to pay off a wedding ring!
I love when he tells the story, because this was his first real experience with paying off debt quickly because he had it in his mind that he was not going to pay interest on my wedding ring. (He did not pay one penny in interest!)
You must be determined to get out of debt, and build your wealth. Seek the Lord daily and commit to your why. When you seek the Lord daily when you are digging yourself out of debt it makes it way easier! Trust me! We have been in your shoes.
My wedding ring was around $4,000. To some you might think, that is not a lot. Why didn’t he just pay cash?
Well, my husband was not a saver at the time I said, yes to being engaged to him and marrying him. As we were dating we talked a lot about finances and I knew he had goals and was not in deep debt. He had student loans and a small car loan. This was easy to knock down I thought to myself. I did it myself, and that was on one small income. I knew we can do it together. Well so that’s what we did! Read those stories here about car debt and student loan debt.
He did not have the cash to pay $4,000 at the time, so he had to start somewhere with it. This is a good thing though. He was building his credit little did he know.
It is okay if you do not have the cash to buy something that you might “want” right away. Be sure you look for a deal, which brings me to my next point.

My husband worked at Kroger so he received a good deal on my ring. It was on sale plus he received a discount for being an employee. Bonus points ladies in my book! I love sales and I love a good discount on things that we are going to end up buying. He won my heart here!
Finding a good deal when you are buying something that it over $1,000 is a must! You must research. You must look. Wait awhile I like to say and think about it before you pull the trigger.
My husband was quick to get a ring, but we always joke that I was even quicker to set a date to get married. We thought a full year of engagement, but I was like nah, just do 5 months. It will be plenty of time for our family to book flights and come to the wedding too.
My husband also got my ring when there was a credit card deal at the jewelry store. He signed up for the credit card, which is the only credit card in his name folks. It was a credit card where he received 0% interest for 12 months, so the payments came to about $125 because they want you to of course pay interest. But that is crazy talk when your future wife is a finance nerd and is all about building wealth for the Lord to share and give and love others to the fullest.
Side note: My dream in college was to be able to give my car to someone, and I did that!
My dream now is to be able to help people live in a place they call home and pay reduce rent. To be able to give practically a home to someone to help them build their own wealth. I will do this soon too! I know it!
Back to the ring though.
My husband divided the ring up into 12 months and paid that amount of the payment each month. It was around $300 each month that he paid. For him, this was super affordable and he could do it. I remember celebrating with him that he had paid off my entire ring before we said, “I do!” this was pretty amazing!
We were also in the midst of paying cash for our wedding too!
If you have to buy a ring and do not have enough saved up for it. Be sure to search for a jewelry store that might have this kind of offer with a credit card. However, you must be responsible with the credit card to not pay interest on it. You need to figure out what the amount is in the period of time that is it zero percent interest and pay that amount. Do not just pay the minimum because then when the zero percent interest is up it will probably go up to 24% interest or something ridiculous.
He still has the credit card too, but now it sits in a drawer and it has nothing on it. Plus we keep it open since it will not hurt his credit score that way.
That is another tip too – credit cards – leave them at home so you are not tempted to use them!

Lessons learned from our wedding ring debt that you can learn too:
I pray for you to be able to find someone who is wanting to be out of debt with you. Life does not need to be a life full of debt your entire life. Trust me! There is more to life than that. God wants you to use his wisdom and knowledge to get out of debt. The journey is not going to be easy, but climbing out of that debt will be the best choice of your life once you are out!

Target is a very dangerous store for anyone, but especially momma’s. We can go in there and send easily $100+ dollars and then we are like what? How did that happen? I am 99% sure you’ve had this moment in Target too. Well I have definitely! I am going to tell you how to avoid and stop yourself from spending over $100 in Target my friend and stop feeling guilty for doing it.
This is easier said than done especially after we all have been cooped up and been through the pandemic. However, I said it if you cannot stop yourself from spending over $100 at Target do yourself a favor and avoid the store. You will save yourself from the guilt of the “oh no, I spent it again.” “Oh my spouse is going to be mad at me.” “Oh, great! Another bad month in the budget because of Target”
I get it we all love Target, however I have store that I have to avoid all together too. Old Navy is one of them. I should not be able to step foot into that store without someone because I could buy it all. I love their clothes!
Key trick here! Personally, I wanted to get a new quit for our bed because I am just sorta of bored of grey. However, I would not have thought that if the quilt were not on clearance. It was only $34.99 and the pillow covers were $9.99. This is a great deal because originally it was 89.98 all together and I could get it for $44.98. This is more than half off!
However, I took photos of it and sent it to my husband. I left the quilts on the shelf and started walking to other parts of the store to get it off my mind. My husband called me and said I really like the quilts but do we need it?
He was right. We don’t need it. I just wanted it. He talked me out of it, and I spent less than $100 in Target!
You have to take a photo of it and send it to the one person who will talk you out of the purchase. It works!
If you know that you need something and you go into target. We must stick to the list. If we go in there for a new outfit. What part of a new outfit do you need? Are we looking for new shoes? Then only look at the shoes.
What if we only go there for someone for food, stick to the list. You got it. Trust me! Write it down and write on the list “STICK TO THE LIST.”

I did this the other day. I was fighting a one year old. Ember and I had to go find something to do for an hour because dad was going to go dump the tanks and get propane for our tiny home. Well she did not want to sit in the cart so I bribed her with a Minnie mouse book and some flash cards. I worked and you know a one-year old time span is only short anyways. At the end of our trip, I put both items back and she was okay with it.
This can happen with us as adults too. We put it in our cart and really see if we need the dollar item and if we do not we can put it back at the end of the trip.
Folks, it is right by self-checkout. You can even put it back in the exact spot you took it!
This is something I always do and it comes to mind because we live tiny. A lot of things we cannot get because we just do not have room for it. You might feel discouraged if you cannot get it because you want it and do not necessarily need it. However, if you say no to something that you want in say Target. You will be able to say yes to something else even better later!
Think about it. If you just want it like I wanted those new quilts for our bed. I may not see what God wants in my life in the moment because I am so focused on the quilts and wanting them. But if I put them down and say, “nah, I do not really need them right now.” God is going to move mountains in your life later because he promised something even better because you had the courage of saying no to temptation.
It really does work. Try it sometime and then see what happens.
You know what it did for us that day, we were driving home and my husband called me. He said, “My new card for capital one did not work the second time, so I called capital one and they told me, well looks like it should be working. It worked on the other purchase you just made.” My husband then went to the salesman at camping world and said, “Oh, man. It must be our machines again. They are new. We are just going to let you have this for free today.” So because I said no to the quilt I wanted and avoided that temptation because man did I want it so bad! God blessed us with a free inspection for our home.
Target is so hard to shop even for me when they have clearance items. I could not stop wanting to buy everything on the shelves. I knew I had to just get out fast!
We have to keep telling ourselves. We do not need any of this. We are content with what we have. Just keep going… Just keep going.
Walk away my friend. Walk away far away!
Another little trick up my sleeve for target and how to avoid the $100 trips is to take a photo of what you want. If you do this, and then see if you really want it or need it after you get home. You can go back there and get it another day. I promise you it will still be there, and if it is not. You really did not need it, which brings me to the last tip.
If you drive home and leave the item you want and come back to get it in a week and it is not there. The trick is you do not really need it. It is amazing at how many times I have done this in my life with a lot of things. It really makes me think about my purchases and spending money. It has helped me even say no to things that are just so hard to resist to buy too!
Try it sometime.
Hope these 8 tips to help you not spend over $100 at Target help you. They have helped me and many of my friends and family members avoid the temptation and guilt of overspending. You can do it momma and avoid the disaster of over spending at Target.
You want to start managing your money better. Even if its a little bit. Start today let me show you how in a 1 on 1 remote coaching session. I would love to help you get started!

Investing doesn’t always have obivous results in regards to giving. You get more when you give. You get happiness. You don’t feel lonely. You find hope and you find truth. Here we cover 7 reasons not to limit yourself with a lack of giving because you are capable of so much in life!

Giving is one of the best feelings you can receive. Above we are giving a book to the little library because when you buy something from us it feels good when we give you tools to better your financial journey plus encourage someone to read and learn too. It allows you to be open, free, and enlightened. People give to be able to see smiles on others faces, to receive a thank you, or a compliment. People give to feel the gratitude of doing something great for the greater of the world. Giving allows a sense of wonder, belief, and faith that the world is going to get better. If you do not give already, I challenge you to give. Give a little more than you are giving and watch faith work and multiple your blessings.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Corinthians 9:7

As humans, we want to leave a legacy, a gift handed down to the next generation. We should leave an inheritance for our grandchildren, and especially we should not keep all our wealth to ourselves with things we buy such as a home, a new car, a boat, and all the other toys we have. Think about it this way, when your grandchildren are grown up, would they be able to mention you and how they received so much from you? Would they mention the money you left behind for them, or would they mention the life you gave them?
What we build today little by little, will matter in the future.
Tom was not a believer in giving to the church. He actually was like, why would you give money to them… until a magically love of God happened to him when he went to church with me and he realized the church was doing a Thankgiving drive and had physical photos of them doing it last year. He started by giving out of his heart.
The blessings he has received from giving. He had 3 people offer to buy him things when he forgot his wallet at home.
The leaders of the world go the furthest when they give to others.
The leaders of the world go far when they rely on God.
The leaders of the world go far when they know God will provide in every season.
It grows so much kindness in the world. As you all know, that the world is a give and take kind of world, but what if you only focused on what you can do as a human. How you can make a difference in your personal relationships, love life, and community.
We must give back in order to reap benefits.

In every healthy relationship there is a mutual respect of give and take. Take for example friendship. If you always ask your friend to hang out and they always say no or never ask you to hang out. Most likely that friendship will go into a dark hole. The friend who always makes the effort will make a new friend who will give back and bring a positive relationship into their life.
This is true when get new habits and grow. We cannot expect to grow our wealth if we do not invest in the community we believe in. We cannot expect to grow our wealth if we do not give in some way. Find a way to deposit and build new habits.
You can be anything. Shout to the world you are happy. You are probably happy because you give. You drive out of your way and look for ways to give to others. You are helpful. You use your imagination.
“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” – Proverbs 11:24-25
Most people always want…bigger, better, and more. How about if we told you that it is time to do something new. I hate to say that I am a witness to this often. When I see someone, who purchases a new car, and then several months later decides they need another new vehicle. It is because the “bigger and better” wore off.
“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5
It is time to be content with what you have so you can give more of what’s in your wallet. What is in your wallet? This is totally Capital One’s motto, but this is not a paid sponsorship. I promise. I could probably say that it is time for you to do something new. The money in your wallet is going somewhere where it will help others rather than help your own bigger and better fairytale.
Farewell my friend, I hope you think this is incredible.
You are a great person.
You have what it takes.
I promise you, God will provide!

Like if you know God will provide for you.
Like if you are going to give this week.

A year in review…let me tell you my story of 2020.
Want to find your networth increase when you think you won’t be able to? You are treasure and I will tell you with these 7 things I learned from 2020. You will be able to achieve your increased networth as well!
I share this with you not to brag. I share this with you because it is our story. Our story of a really hard, really tough, and huge growing year in faith, but also hitting a milestone of our Networth.
You must leave your past to move even further forward. There is a plan that is a million times better than your plan. Draw yourself into it!
If you have been following us for awhile, you know I left my job in April 2020. I did it because God put on my heart to leave just like he did when I packed my bags and moved from Nebraska to North Caroline without a job. Well, he actually told my husband first. (I feel like this is always happening…maybe it is because he listens better than I do?) It was hard! I am a person who left behind her dream. Her dream to become a CEO of a fortune 500 company, I left a job I loved, I left my everything, including my income to grow our networth (so I thought).

You must have a relationship and grow with the Lord. Grow your relationship with your partner or your accountability partner. They will make you better. They will help you overcome everything.
My relationship with God did not get left behind. Most of my friends and family know, I was big into money and my relationship with God. I mean I have already been debt free when I was 26 years old, I gave a car to someone, and paid for my dream car with cash. But God said, to me I have a new path for you Kailey. He grew my faith and my relationship with Him more this year than he did when I left my job back then.
Dig yourself out. You put yourself into the mess. You have to dig yourself out. If you are not in a mess, swim fast away from the mess and do not get yourself in it. Here are some quick wins to help you
First, I am going to share with you our debt pay off, because maybe you are in the debt pay journey yourself and need a little bit of jam for your 2021 goals. We opened a back to basic course just for you too! Sign up here!
We financed a RV last year in March 2019 for $50,000. It is considered our “mortgage.” I would tell you my plan for the future with it, but I am not sure what it is yet. Stay tuned what we find out too. Maybe we will sell it, maybe we will keep it. I do know we want to buy a house with cash so stay tuned and see if we reach this crazy goal! As you can see from March 2019 to January 2020. We did not pay much on the RV loan, and we were making well over 6 figures. It really hit when we communicated to each other about big goals.

Life is not going to be easy. Ask anyone who has lived awhile. You always have to readjust your life, your goals, and find peace along the way. Having peace and being positive about life is not always easy. It is a task and I talk about this all the time, but this year everyone has hit a bottom or some kind of bottom together. Follow the good and keep your head up.
The pandemic hit in March of 2020 and I left my job in April of 2020.
Tools to your success are important. Just like losing weight or feeling good every day. You have to find your jam to help you. Losing weight maybe the right trainer or the right workout or food. Feeling good everyday maybe you pay extra for pandora without ads to rock out to or maybe you go get your hair done each month because you have to look good. You have to find your tools in your life. Refuse to lose and go.
Cheers to a huge milestone. We did not do it by ourselves.
We did it with these resources:
We did it with God on our side because in May he pointed me to this verse Proverbs 3:5-6. Self-dependent is stressful. You need to let it go, and be God Dependent. This is when we let go. Well we did not let go over night. It was June we discussed and communicated that we really need to make a difference. July when we really let go and made some moves.

You need to believe in big things. Big goals that you know are not possible with just you. What are they going to be? Think…hold on…and think some more… This is a favorite part!
A reflection on more goals…
Sorry, I wish I could tell you that life is not going to come with step backs, but this is not true. Step backs are only a measure to see how strong you are. You will feel alone in the midst of it. You will feel like it is not going to end. You will feel broken. We all go through set backs. You are enough, so let me tell you our setbacks of 2020.
Set backs while reaching huge milestones…
All these set backs that said, “We are not enough.” “We are going to fight.” “We are not going to make our goals.”
They did not stop me because of the next point…

Let me tell you with the Lord, he will surpass your goals and conquer all the fear when you give and give yourself positive affirmation. You must give grace to yourself. You must give to others hence why we always give to the Lord first. You must say positive things about you and your money.
In this entire new years resolutions, I want you to release your grace, your faith, and don’t run. You will make all your goals. Do not let those lies take you down.
Want more accomplishments from us to give you hope?
Increased our total networth by $51k on one salary!
People may say it is impossible for their year, but I am telling you. You can do it! Learn from our lessons because I am here to tell you even though you think everyone else’s life is perfect and yours is not. I am here to tell you that yours is perfect too and you can increase your networth just like we did!

Wonder how far you’ve come financially the year of 2020? It is Thanksgiving day so we want to share with you five ways to be thankful for where you are financially especially in this season of 2020. We’re going to show you how you can be thankful financially.
![]()
If you lost a job.
If you are stay at home mom. I
f you are a working father.
If you are somewhere that you didn’t think you were going to be.
Be thankful for your circumstance today because it is God’s will for your life. You may not understand it right now but you will understand it looking back in a few years.
Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom!
Oh, I never thought I was going to be a stay-at-home mom. I always had on my mind — I wanted to be a CEO of a huge corporation, be single, and be really really rich. But God he has put a different CEO path in my life.
I am the CEO of my family. I have a family and we will be rich together by giving our readers more of what they need to help them improve their financial journey with the Lord. My husband is the President and the marketer he is the one that plans everything and it he is the anchor to the family financially. In this season, I am thankful of this circumstance because I get to grow and mold our daughter.
Capitalize on your networth where you are at right now.
How to calculate your net worth? Let’s dive in.
First assets, figure out how much cash you have in your bank accounts. Write it down all down. Figure out how much other assets you have. Whether that is stocks and bonds, 401k, Roth IRA, your real estate Investments, your cars figure out all of those items.
Figure out your liabilities. What you owe on your credit cards what you owe on your mortgage what you owe on your car’s what you owe with any loan.
Take what you have for your assets subtract it from your liabilities. And this is your networth right now.
Assets – Liabilities = Networth
Cash – What you Owe = Networth.
Questions to ask yourself:
Whichever answer you said yes to figure out why you move the way you did.
Critical thinking right here.
Did you know if you’re paying off your debt that you are increasing your net worth?
Be thankful for the steps you made because you aren’t where you used to be and you are going to go a lot further. Cherish it.
My favorite thing to do is go back to a journal from five years ago and look to see what I was so thankful for financially and what growth I made whether it was so simple like me putting in $25 a month into my 401k when I was in college like that is just so crazy to me I was thankful for $25 a month into my 401k but that’s where I was at that stage of my life so be thankful whatever stage you are in your life.
If you are there, that is okay! Be thankful. You opened a new account — be thankful!
We personally just opened a 529 plan for Ember and she is almost one.

Whether it was your grocery budget that stressed you because you bought more groceries because people were at home be thankful for that stretch to be able to spend more time with your family close by.
Think of something that has carried you along this year was it your emergency fund? Did you build an emergency fund a little bit extra because of the pandemic?
Did you not even have a fully funded emergency fund but that month that you were out of work you had enough saved so you could live off of?
Were you saving up for something else and you used that money as your backbone? And you were able to think of using the money and understand why you need an emergency fund in times of crisis.
Whatever your stretch was be thankful for it because it has grown you to be a better person for tomorrow!
By the way this is a WIN! You are winning!
Did you figure out ways to have fun without spending money?
That is a financial win in my book!
Maybe you spent more time outside.
Maybe you meant more of your neighbors.
Maybe you lent a hand to someone in need.
Maybe you enjoyed going to a park every single day.
Whatever and your moment of joy with your family was embrace it. Be thankful financially for that free moment.
Life has a funny way of working. You could have 2020 goals and none of them worked out.
Look and see why those goals for 2020 didn’t work out, maybe it saved you financially. Maybe you were going to get into more debt if you would have made those 2020 goals maybe you would have lost peace. Maybe you would have spent too much money and got yourself into a bind.
I don’t know why. Only you and the big guy know.
I do know looking back at one of our big goals we are glad it hasn’t happened yet. Our goal was to move. I wrote in my journal well actually my calendar three top places we wanted to move. The first place was Salt Lake City, Utah — hello expensive. The second one was Boise, Idaho — hello all so expensive and all the way across the state again. The third place was Knoxville, Tennessee…I so want to move here still. But as of November 2020, we are supposed to just stay content with where we are.
Now do you see with those five ways to be thankful financially, they don’t always have to come around with a number financially.
“Be truly glad there is wonderful joy ahead.” 1 Peter 1:6
Don’t let 2020 stop you from being thankful for your financial step forward.
If you are not thankful for anything financially this year. Wish for a change and subscribe to our blog. We encourage our readers so much throughout the year on Wednesdays. Our readers always tell us they look forward to these emails!

Thanksgivings Holiday Hacks: Joy and Money
Ever wonder how to save money for thanksgiving dinner? Want to take out the stress and the burnt meal? Let us show you these 5 ways to save you time and money this quarantine thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a time to say cheers and celebrate with those who are closest to you. You can start new traditions with your immediate family. Last thanksgiving, I was off from the grocery store thankful my manager let a 8 months pregnant lady off the busiest day of the year. I cooked a thanksgiving meal for my husband. Just the two of us. Know matter if you thanksgiving is just you, your spouse, and your kids that is okay! Enjoy the lazy day with your family and eat a lot at a discount.
While this might seem hard to search the ads before the week of the holiday because the Ham is on sale during that week. I can share with you a little secret. Most grocery stores start their sales earlier and earlier to help themselves be prepared for the huge holiday! Thanksgiving is the biggest food shopping holiday and the stores want to ensure they are ready for all the sales!
Like this week at Kroger, they have their biggest discounts right now on all the side dishes. The gravy, the baking needs, and the stuffing. They are trying to move through all the stuff early and this has always been their plan.
Do not want to step foot in a store? That is okay. Order a pick up order, but be sure to not order what everyone is ordering and expect to get it! You know like cranberry sauce, half and half, celery, sage, fresh thyme, molasses, etc.
Pick Up Shoppers Read this important note:
If you are a pick up shopper, do not wait until the end of the week or the beginning of the week to place your order! Place your order mid week! Why? Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the slowest days, and you will most likely have a great experience. You will receive all of your groceries plus have a fast delivery to your car. Sunday, Monday, Friday are the worst days to place an order. You and every other planner will place their order these days, and you will probably not have a good experience.
This could be a hard pill to swallow for some people who are meal planners, and who are on a budget like most of us. However, if you are a planner, which I know you are because you are reading this. You meal plan every week! You have to take this as a hint to start planning early for food shopping for thanksgiving. You know you are making a pumpkin pie? Buy pumpkin pie filling early. You know you are making a Turkey? Buy your sage, thyme, and all the seasoning early.
As this article is coming out a few weeks before Thanksgiving, stores have already built their destinations for holiday. They have built their end caps (end of aisles destinations) for holding capacity for you. They have built their baking runs with all the necessities.

Thanksgiving Dinner does not need to be complicated. It can be simply put together just like you do every other dinner and even on a budget. You are a pro at it. You do it every single week. Do not stop here just because you are feeding a few more people.
Here is a simple tip for Thanksgiving and a menu:
Meat: Turkey or Ham
Potatoes: Mash them 😉
Veggie: Green Beans (Make them fancy by making them into a casserole)
Side: Stuffing (get the box)
Side: Rolls (buy the ones in a bag!) Sara Lee Honey Ones all the way!
Dessert: Pie (your favorite, of course)

A turkey can be hard to make well because I have never made one. Make a ham. Most hams are already precooked and all you need to do is warm it up in the oven or crock pot. People there is no shame in using a crock pot for the holidays especially if you use it during your normal weekly meal planning. Instapot fan? Then use an instapot to make your mashed potatoes. Did you know you could even make mashed potatoes in the microwave? Yes, you most definitely can! Heat up your potatoes like your having a baked potato and then mash it!
You know what it will be eaten in 15 minutes anyways, so do not stress about it!
Thanksgiving is about thankfulness, love, and coming together.
This is probably one of my favorite things to do. I love to look up easy recipes on pinterest because they are endless. Most of them are easy and if they are not. Skip, next one! Make a way to make your Thanksgiving easy by not overcomplicating it.
This also saves you money because you can search for recipes that you have the ingredients on hand already or even switch out an ingredient! Yes, I have done it many times. Like did you know you could use ripe bananas instead of butter for baking! Bam, mic drop! You already probably knew the apple sauce instead of eggs for cookies, but still that is what I am saying! LETS SAVE YOU MONEY!

We have hardly any waste because we shop only what we can use for the week, so if you are like us and cannot stock up like in hack number one or hack number two by not shopping the week of. That is okay! Do not worry. Thanksgiving is on a Thursday – like it always is. Start your shopping early in the morning during that week. You may have to use self check out, but at least you do not have to deal with all the people. The key days do not go on Sunday or Wednesday during Thanksgiving week. We already found pumpkin pie filling on discount with a 50 cent markdown label on it. Thank you dented can! I think this year I want to try a pumpkin brownie swirl. Mhmm – doesn’t that sound so good?
Other articles you will enjoy:
That is awesome – do it again this year! But this year, deliver it to a neighbor that is in need of a holiday dinner too! You could give to them by packaging the meal together for them and being their “door dash”. Now, doesn’t that bring back the neighborly love and the reason for the season!

I understand that this is not possible for everyone in the middle of November. Like if we lived in Nebraska, and just had that HUGE ice storm that came out of no where. Thankfully my family is all safe, but so many trees feel down from being frozen! The tree in my moms front yard almost fell on the house – yikes! I probably would not do this, but hey we live in Virginia and it is possible! An idea for you, have a campfire and eat outside like the pilgrims used to do. What can be cooked on a campfire lots of stuff? Especially with a cast iron skillet!
Perfect thanksgiving campfire dinner: ham, potatoes, green beans, and apple cobbler
You have found one of these hacks to save you money for this thanksgiving and are going to take the stress out of it. Hello to you! You are a pro and there will be zero burnt meals!

We went from spending over $600 a month to less than $400! And my husband eats a lot of meat! His doctor told him he needed to eat more chicken so we have even made the adjustment and still save the money!
